Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar turns 33

One of the best sportsmen ever produced by India, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has turned 33 today. Sachin has had a quiet birthday celebration with his wife and two kids. The batting legend is in the rehabilitation process after getting a shoulder surgery done. Tendulkar is expected to return to International Cricket during the 4-Tests Matches Series in the Caribbean.

Born in Bombay (now Mumbai) on this same day in 1973, Sachin Tendulkar made quick progress in his career after getting coaching under Ramakanth Achrekar in Shivaji Park. Sachin with his strokeplay caught the eye of the entire nation and at the tender age of 16 got to play for his country at the National Stadium in Karachi in the 1st Test of the 1989/90 Series. Sachin announced his arrival in the exhibition match at Peshawar where he scored an 18-ball 53. Infact the match was played for the benefit of the public as the then scheduled 1st ODI between Pakistan and India got abandoned due to bad light. Sachin’s One Day Debut was the next ODI of that series at Gujranwala and although he did not perform in a breathtaking fashion, the then Indian Selectors backed him with full faith. India and World Cricket has been treated to some scintillating innings by Tendulkar all these years and many records have been broken by this Maratha Master Blaster. Sachin Tendulkar has on most occasions lived to the huge expectations of his fans all this years and it remains to be seen if he can continue to do that in this closing phase of his illustrious career.
