India play a 2-day warm up match against Antigua & Barbuda starting today at the Police Recreation Ground, which is located just outside St.John’s. The Indian team has been refreshed by the arrival of five players, who have been flown from India for this Test Series. That includes opening batsman Wasim Jaffer, middle order batsman VVS Laxman, leg spin legend Anil Kumble, reserve wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik and fast bowler Vikram Singh. All the five players are expected to play this match not just because most of them need match practice in these conditions ahead of the Test Series, but also to give rest to some of the jaded players who had a tough run in the 5 ODIs. The homeside is led by former West Indies player Sylvester Joseph. The side also includes pace bowler Adam Sanford, who had played all the five Tests against India in 2001/02. The Indians after this game have just a day’s break before they get to play the 1st Test match which is at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St.John’s.
