Jacques Kallis MumbaiVibrant Royal Challengers Bangalore under the leadership of Anil Kumble went onto record its third win of the tournament. The strong bowling side defeated the strong batting side of the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium.

Batting first, hosts Mumbai Indians were on fire when Sachin Tendulkar (25 from 22 balls) and Saurabh Tiwary (25 from 21 balls) were at the crease with 200 very much on the cards. But the RCB bowlers bowled superbly to take wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, Mumbai Indians were in a disastrous position at 76 for 6 but could recover to 151 for 9 thanks to Zaheer Khan’s unbeaten 23 from 9 balls. For RCB, Dale Steyn and Vinay Kumar took three wickets each. Anil Kumble bowled superbly well for his 1 for 18 in 4 overs.

Once again RCB got a wonderful opening from Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey which made their chase very easy. Pandey scored a sparkling 40 from 27 balls (with 3 fours and 2 sixes) in an opening stand of 85.

Kallis yet again played the anchor role guiding the team right till the end, he remained unbeaten on 66 from 55 balls with 10 fours to get the Man of the Match. His task was made easier by the power hitting from Uthappa (23 from 15 balls) and Virat Kohli (17 from 12 balls with two consecutive sixes off Harbhajan). RCB won the match with 7 wickets in hand and five balls to spare.
