The Pakistani Selectors have decided to recall forgotten fast bowler Mohammad Sami for the upcoming Test Series against India. Sami gets his opportunity following an impressive show in the domestic circuit along with the void created due to the injury to Mohammad Asif. Pakistan have named a 15-man squad which also includes the extra wicket keeper in Sarfraz Ahmed because of a finger injury to Kamran Akmal.

The Test Match Specialists flying to India along with Mohammad Sami are leg spinner Danish Kaneria and middle order batsman Faisal Iqbal. The players who have been part of the One Day Squad but flying back home are Imran Nazir, Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam and Ifitkhar Rao Anjum.

It is likely that Sami will form a pace trio with Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Gul in the Test Series with Sohail Tanvir warming up the bench. Sami hasn’t lived upto his potential despite having the express pace. He has taken 77 wickets playing in 30 Tests at a very high average of 47.87. This tour of India could be one last chance for the 26-year-old to cement his place in the national side.

Pakistan Test Squad : Shoaib Malik (Captain), Mohammad Yousuf, Younis Khan (Vice-Captain), Salman Butt, Faisal Iqbal, Kamran Akmal (Wicket Keeper), Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Sami, Umar Gul, Danish Kaneria, Yasir Hameed, Shoaib Akhtar, Abdur Rehman, Sohail Tanvir and Sarfraz Ahmed (Wicket Keeper)
