London, September 13 (ANI): England batsman Jonathan Trott on Monday was named as International Cricket Council (ICC) cricketer of the year for his achievements during 2011 when he compiled 1,042 runs at an average of 65.12 in 12 tests. Excited on winning the award, Trott said it is a brilliant feeling to be recognized among the world’s best cricketers and great to be part of the successful team. Meanwhile, Alastair Cook, opening batsman as well as skipper for one-day team was named test cricketer of the year after compiling 1,302 test runs in the review period at an average of 51.74, including six centuries and four-half centuries….
