New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram has officially announced his retirement from Test Cricket after struggling to keep away from injuries of late. The big hitting left hander will prolong his ODI and T20 career though for New Zealand.

The 31-year-old Jacob Oram has been injury prone and has played only 33 Tests and 132 ODIs ever since making his international debut in 2002-03. Oram’s last test was the second and final Test against Sri Lanka at SSC, Colombo where he scored a patient half century.

Oram’s contribution with the bat in Test Cricket has been 6 fifties and 5 100s while scoring 1780 runs at an average of 36.32. With the ball, he has captured 60 wickets with not a single 5-wicket haul. Oram has been a better player in the shorter versions though because of his lusty hitting and wicket to wicket bowling.
