Darren Bravo batted all through the fourth day’s play to not only score a maiden double century but also to keep West Indies alive in the First Test at Dunedin. The 24-year-old emulated his role model Brian Lara by getting a tall score. Darren Bravo, who resumed Day 4 on 72, remained unconquered on 210 by the close of play. West Indies at the close o Day 4 are 443 for 6 in 139 overs. The visitors hold an overall lead of 47 runs.

The job is still unfinished for Darren Bravo as he will have to bat for a session atleast on the final day if West Indies have to save this Test match. Giving him company is Skipper Darren Sammy who has done well to score a fighting 44* in 75 balls. For Darren Bravo, it has been a marathon knock, defying the Kiwi bowlers for 404 balls so far while striking 30 fours.

West Indies were 168 for 2 at the start of Day 4 and were in deep trouble losing Marlon Samuels (23) and veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul (1) early in the morning session. Bravo turned things around though by putting up a 122-run stand with Narsingh Deonarine who scored 52. Later in the day, Bravo managed to add 56 runs with Denesh Ramdin and then an unbroken stand of 80 with Darren Sammy.
