Australia demolish Windies inside three days!

West Indies lost as many as 15 wickets on the third day to get defeated by an innings and 65 runs in the first Test at Gabba.

Resuming the third day’s play at 134 for 5 in their first innings, West Indies were bowled out for 228 in 63 overs. Overnight batsmen Travis Dowlin (62) and Denesh Ramdin (54) put on a fighting stand of 78 for the sixth wicket. Johnson and Hauritz took three wickets each. Australia enforced the follow on having taken a lead of 228.

West Indies in their second innings were bundled out for just 187 with their innings lasting a little over 50 overs. However, they take a real positive from this match in the form of debutant Adrian Barath who scored a sparkling century. Barath smacked 104 from just 138 balls with 19 fours out of a paltry team total of 187! Ben Hilfenhaus took three wickets and was awarded with the Man of the Match.
