West Indies picked up a smart victory against England on a rainy day at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Chris Gayle rightly opted to bat second so that his team was knowing exactly how many runs to chase in a surely truncated game. England were extremely unlucky to lose the game despite pounding 191 for 5 on the board. West Indies after a long rain break needed just the 60 runs to win from 6 overs through the revised D/L Method.

Gayle provided the impetus with a 12-ball 25 which led West Indies to a comfortable win with one ball to spare. Earlier in the English innings, Eoin Morgan scored a sparkling 55 from 35 balls (with three fours and three sixes). He was helped along by Luke Wright who scored an unbeaten 45 from 27 balls (with 1 four and 4 sixes). The Man of the Match surprisingly went to Darren Sammy for his 4-0-22-2.
