West Indies fresh from their One Day Series win over England took just 45.5 overs to wrap up their match against Netherlands at Dublin. In what is the first match of the Ireland Quadrangular Series, Windies bundled out the Dutch for a paltry 80 and then knocked off the runs without losing a wicket in under 15 overs.

Netherlands won the toss and batted first only to lose wickets at a regular interval. Windies made just the one change that of bringing in Darren Sammy for Dwayne Bravo who has stayed back in England for getting his ankle injury treated. Teenage opener Alexei Kervezee was looking good with his 22 before he got out to Daren Powell to be the third wicket down at 41 on the board. Before that Ravi Rampaul had got two lbw decisions in his favour with one of them being that of the experienced Bas Zuiderent. Once the inroads were made, it was left to the teasing medium pace of Dwayne Smith to run through the batting line up of the Dutch. Dwayne Smith ended up with dream figures of 4 for 8 in 6 overs as the Dutch got bowled out for 80 in 31.2 overs. Only three players could get into double digit scores for the Dutch.

Windies smacked the runs in 14.3 overs with Skipper Chris Gayle dominating with 51 from 45 with 6 fours and a six while his opening partner played a steady innings of 29 from 42.
